In addition to the presence of a shield protecting the pins, which is unusual, we can note a safety system, certainly primitive, blocking the hammer by pressing on a "bolt", constituted by a rod preventing any accidental percussion, once in place.
Moreover, the extraction rod seems, as far as I can see on the photographs, provided with an "anti-loss"device. Collectors know that it is unfortunately rather frequent.

The Ebony or false ebony grip is pear pear shaped . The ramrod is missing.

Liege Proof house stamps :
STAR/ ELG in an oval: Acceptance mark - used from 1846 to 1893.
Crowned N (although in a strange location) should be the counter mark of the controller, in use from 1853 to 1877.
The Crowned MA stamp, is not formally identified as such, it could possibly be the mark of Maurice ARENDT, 8 Trappé str. in Liege (BE 1857/1889) who registered ten patents including one concerning improvements to LEFAUCHEUX revolvers .
This corresponds in the initials, the time and the patent on the Lefaucheux revolvers.
